About the Event

Young Lawyers Forum in collaboration with Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI) and Jammu And Kashmir RTI Movement (JKRTIM) successfully organized a training session on the Right to Information Act, 2005 on 3rd April, 2022.

Objective of the Workshop

The workshop was exclusively organized for the disciples of law and members of the legal fraternity, with an aim of imparting the required training amongst them vis-a-vis the effective use of the RTI Mechanism.

The esteemed speakers at the event were:

Mr. Venkatesh Nayak

Programme Head, Access to Information Programme Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative.

Mr. Nayak is presently a key public training resource on Right to Information across South Asia, Africa & the Caribbean. He has trained more than 6000 officers of the Government and more than 600 executives of public sector enterprises for implementing India’s transparency law.

Dr. Sheikh Ghulam Rasool

Chairperson, J&K RTI Movement.

Founder and Chairman of the J&K RTI Movement and Tosa Maidan Bachow Front, Dr. Sheikh Ghulam Rasool is a renowned Activist and also serves as the Co-Convener to National Campaign for People’s Right to Information (NCPRI).

Adv. Naveed Bukhtiyar

Coordinator, J&K RTI Movement.

Mr. Naveed Bukhtiyar is a young Advocate and an RTI Activist , working as Coordinator with J&K RTI Movement. He has pursued many remarkable RTIs, including the Ban on Student Union, Minutes of Meetings of All Party Meet, Expenditure on Awareness of RTIs after 2019 etc.
